ANAHEIM, Calif., May 16 (UPI) -- Joel Pineiro baffled Oakland Sunday, tossing a four-hit shutout and boosting the Los Angeles Angels to a 4-0 victory.
Pineiro (3-4) was tough, walking only one batter and striking out five in a 98-pitch gem. He allowed only one runner to reach third in his sixth career shutout and lifted the Angels to a three-game series sweep of the A's.

Bobby Abreu connected for a two-run homer and Howie Kendrick was 3-for-4 with an RBI in the Angels' win.
Trevor Cahill (1-2) took the loss for the A's despite delivering a quality start. Cahill allowed three runs on five hits over seven innings.
Jack Cust was 2-for-3 and Adam Rosales doubled for Oakland.
