MLB: Florida 7, NY Mets 2

MIAMI, May 14 (UPI) -- Dan Uggla hit two of Florida's four homers Friday, including a three-run shot in the third, sending the Marlins to a 7-2 victory over the New York Mets.

Chris Coghlan, Gaby Sanchez and Uggla all hit solo home runs in the fourth in a span of four batters, helping Florida claim its fourth win in five games. The Mets have dropped three in a row and are just 4-10 on the road.

The four home runs backed up the four-hit pitching of Anibal Sanchez (2-2), who gave up two runs over seven innings and struck out seven. Oliver Perez (0-3) continued to struggle, allowing seven runs on nine hits over 3 1/3.

Coughlan's home run was the first for a Florida left-handed batter in 35 games. Uggla ran his home run total for the season to eight.
