MLB: Chicago Cubs 4, Florida 3

CHICAGO, May 12 (UPI) -- Carlos Silva posted a solid start and Marlon Byrd hit a go-ahead RBI double Wednesday, sparking the Chicago Cubs to a 4-3 win over Florida.

Silva (4-0) remained undefeated this season, scattering seven hits over 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, walking two and striking out a pair to help the Cubs salvage one win in a three-game set with the Marlins at Wrigley Field.

Carlos Marmol collected his fifth save despite a shaky ninth inning during which he allowed Florida to pull to within a run.

Byrd's run-scoring double in the fifth inning scored Kosuke Fukudome and broke a 2-2 tie. Starlin Castro went to third on the play and scored when Marlins starter Chris Volstad (3-3) unloaded a wild pitch.

Byrd ended with two hits and Mike Fontenot drove in two runs in the Cubs' win.

Florida was led by Ronny Paulino's two RBI.
