MADRID, May 11 (UPI) -- World No. 2 Caroline Wozniacki was a straight-set upset victim Tuesday in second-round play of the Madrid Open clay-court tennis tournament.

Wozniacki's 6-2, 6-3 loss to Alona Bondarenko means neither 2009 finalist will be around for the end of this year's event. Wozniacki lost the title match last year to Dinara Safina, who was ousted from the tournament Monday.
