ARLINGTON, Texas, May 9 (UPI) -- The Texas Rangers nipped Kansas City 3-2 Saturday in the third game of a four-game series.

Ian Kinsler put the Rangers ahead with an RBI single in the eighth and Elvis Andrus had a run and an RBI for the home team. Josh Hamilton had the other RBI.

Davis DeJesus slammed a homer for the losing team and Mitch Maier drove in the other run.

Reliever Chris Ray (1-0) held the Royals scoreless in the eighth to pick up the win and Neftali Feliz was credited with a save. Rich Harden opened and went five innings for the Rangers, giving up two runs on six hits.

Gil Melche (0-4) went the distance for the Royals, giving up three runs on six hits while walking seven.
