CLEVELAND, May 8 (UPI) -- Miguel Cabrera socked a tie-breaking two-run single Saturday, boosting the Detroit Tigers to a 6-4 win over Cleveland.

Friday's contest between Detroit and Cleveland was washed out due to heavy rain.

Scott Sizemore knocked in three runs while Austin Jackson and Brennan Boesch each collected two hits and scored once for the Tigers.

Justin Verlander (3-2) started and got the win, yielding four hits and three runs over six innings while striking out a season-high nine batters despite walking four. Jose Valverde got his eighth save of the season.

The Indians were led by Austin Kearns, who drove in three runs, while Travis Hafner collected three hits and an RBI in the loss, Cleveland's fifth straight.
