WASHINGTON, May 5 (UPI) -- Danny Allsopp had two goals Wednesday and 19-year-old Bill Hamid won his first MLS start in D.C. United's 2-1 decision over Kansas City.

United produced its initial victory of the season, having lost its opening five games of the campaign. Curt Onalfo, who coached Kansas City for three years beginning in 2007, claimed his first win as coach of United.

Kansas City (2-3-1) lost for the third time in four games.

Allsopp scored in the 12th minute, eluding Jimmy Conrad in the left side of the area and then ripping a deflected shot past Jimmy Nielsen.

The second goal came in the 34th minute when Allsopp beat Nielsen by firing one into the left corner from 18 yards out.

Hamid made five saves in his debut. He was bested only by Kei Kamara in second-half stoppage time, a goal that ended Kansas City's 402-minute scoring drought.
