CHICAGO, May 5 (UPI) -- Andruw Jones and Alex Rios both had a two-run homer and both had three RBI Wednesday, helping power the Chicago White Sox past Kansas City 9-2.
Kansas City failed to capitalize on a 12-hit attack and lost for the third time in four games.
Chicago took quick control by batting around in a four-run first inning. Jones hit his homer in that frame and the White Sox also got RBI singles from Carlos Quentin and Mark Teahen.
Jones drew a bases-loaded walk in the fourth. Rios contributed a sacrifice fly in the fourth and hit his homer in the sixth to finish the scoring.
Freddy Garcia (1-2) survived six innings to get the win. He gave up 10 hits, but did not walk a batter.
The loss went to Brian Bannister (1-2), who was roughed up for seven runs on seven hits in three-plus innings.
