MLB: Minnesota 10, Detroit 4

MINNEAPOLIS, May 4 (UPI) -- Rookie catcher Wilson Ramos went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI Monday, pacing the Minnesota Twins to a 10-4 blowout of Detroit.

Only one day after becoming the first Twin since Kirby Puckett to get four hits in his major league debut, Ramos followed it up with three more while Michael Cuddyer connected on a three-run homer as Minnesota opened a three-game series with Detroit.

Denard Span tripled and drove in a pair as Minnesota followed Sunday's 20-hit performance against Cleveland with 12 more Monday.

Starter Scott Baker (3-2) held the Tigers to three runs on seven hits and two walks over seven innings.

Detroit starter Max Scherzer (1-2) was ineffective, going down after allowing all 10 Twins runs on eight hits and four walks in only 4 1/3 innings as the Tigers saw their five-game winning streak snapped.
