MLB: Minnesota 8, Cleveland 3

CLEVELAND, May 2 (UPI) -- Wilson Ramos went 4-for-5 in his major league debut and Francisco Liriano threw seven strong innings Sunday in the Minnesota Twins' 8-3 win over Cleveland.

Ramos, a rookie catcher starting in place of injured all-star Joe Mauer, hit a double and three singles to key a 20-hit Minnesota attack and lead the Twins to a win in the rubber game of a three-game series.

Delmon Young had four hits, including the second of back-to-back homers with teammate Jim Thome. Thome's clout was his 569th career blast, tying him with Rafael Palmeiro for 11th on the all-time home run list.

Liriano (4-0) allowed three runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out nine. His 23-inning scoreless streak, however, was snapped in the first inning.

Indians starter David Huff (1-4) was tagged for four runs on 10 hits and two walks in five-plus innings. Asdrubal Cabrera collected three hits in the loss.
