SAN FRANCISCO, May 1 (UPI) -- Matt Cain pitched eight innings of one-hit ball, striking out eight batters and leading the San Francisco Giants to a 6-1 victory over Colorado.
Cain (1-1) was dominant, blanking the Rockies in a 123-pitch, three-walk effort, while Bengie Molina, Aubrey Huff and Juan Uribe each socked a home run to pace the Giants to their fourth win in five games.

The Rockies got their only run in the ninth off reliever Guillermo Mota when Todd Helton plated Troy Tulowitzki with an RBI single.
Colorado starter Esmil Rogers (0-1) was ineffective, lasting only four innings during which he surrendered five runs on five hits and four walks.
