LOS ANGELES, April 26 (UPI) -- British soccer star David Beckham said Monday he has pushed back the timetable for his return from an Achilles tendon injury to November.

During an appearance on ABC-TV's "The View," Beckham said his recovery from the ruptured tendon is taking longer than he had thought, delaying a return originally set for September.

"I won't be running for another three months, so I will be playing again in, probably, November," Beckham told ABC, meaning he will miss the MLS regular season for the Los Angeles Galaxy, perhaps returning in time for the playoffs.

Beckham suffered the injury in March while playing on loan to AC Milan. He underwent surgery, ending his hopes of playing for England in the 2010 World Cup.

"My mentality is to kind of push it and get moving and running as soon as possible. But it's an injury that has to take time to heal," the former Manchester United star told ABC. 'It's frustrating. It's obviously disappointing because I've been working for the last two years to get into the English squad for the World Cup."
