Cantu's hitting streak is the longest current one in the majors. He came to bat in the first inning with runners on first and second and singled to left. Both runners scored when left fielder Carlos Lee misplayed the ball for an error.

Cantu then moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground out by Dan Uggla. Cody Ross also drove in Cantu with a single in the sixth.

Felipe Paulino (0-2) gave up five runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings to take the loss. Only two of the runs were earned.
