MLB: Minnesota 5, Cleveland 1

MINNEAPOLIS, April 21 (UPI) -- Kevin Slowey allowed only one run in eight innings Tuesday to pace the Minnesota Twins to a 5-1 win over Cleveland.

Slowey (2-1) gave up a solo homer to Travis Hafner and gave up five hits overall, striking out nine while allowing no walks to lead the Twins to their fourth win in five games.

Justin Morneau collected a pair of hits, drew a walk, scored a run and notched an RBI while J.J. Hardy and Brendan Harris each drove in a run for Minnesota, which took advantage of a third-inning error by Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera who bobbled a sure double-play grounder.

The error set up a bases-loaded walk to Hardy and a play in which the Twins scored two runs on wild pitch unleashed by Cleveland starter Justin Masterson (0-2).
