MLB: New York Mets 4, Chicago Cubs 0

NEW YORK, April 20 (UPI) -- Mike Pelfrey threw seven scoreless innings and Jose Reyes collected four hits Tuesday in the New York Mets' 4-0 win over the Chicago Cubs.

Pelfrey (3-0) stretched his scoreless-innings streak to 19, holding the Cubs to three hits while issuing three walks and striking out six.

Reyes clubbed a triple and drove in a pair of runs while Fernando Tatis came off the bench to mash a two-run homer for New York, which won for the third time in four games.

Chicago lost its fourth straight game. The Cubs were led by Alfonso Soriano with a double. Starter Carlos Zambrano (1-2) went six strong innings, giving up two runs while striking out nine.
