WASHINGTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Willie Harris socked a three-run homer and drove in four runs Monday as the Washington Nationals defeated Colorado 5-2.
Harris' homer off the Rockies' Aaron Cook (0-2) put the Nats up 3-0 in the second inning and he added a sacrifice fly in the next frame to extend Washington's lead to 4-0.
Nyjer Morgan contributed a pair of hits and an RBI and Craig Stammen (1-0) pitched eight solid innings, giving up two runs on five hits with five strikeouts in the Nationals' win.
Matt Capps hurled a scoreless ninth inning to get his sixth save, best in the National League.
The Rockies were led by Clint Barmes and Miguel Olivo who each batted in a run as Colorado lost for the fourth time in five games.
