LB Sims traded to Eagles in 3-way deal

PHILADELPHIA, April 19 (UPI) -- Linebacker Ernie Sims went from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles Monday as part of a three-way deal with the Denver Broncos, the teams said.

The Eagles gave a 2010 fifth-round draft pick to Denver while tight end Tony Scheffler and a 2010 seventh-round pick went from the Broncos to the Lions.

Sims, 25, recorded 49 tackles over 11 games for Detroit in 2009. In his 59-game career, he has notched 420 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and one interception.

Scheffler, 27, pulled down 31 receptions for 416 yards and two touchdowns in 15 games for the Broncos last year. In his four-year career with Denver, Scheffler in 57 games has notched 138 catches for 1,896 yards and 14 touchdowns.
