MLB: Florida 5, Philadelphia 1

PHILADELPHIA, April 17 (UPI) -- Ricky Nolasco hurled a complete game, shutting Philadelphia down on five hits and lifting the Florida Marlins to a 5-1 win over the Phillies.

Nolasco (1-0) allowed one run, walked three and struck out four in notching his second career nine-inning effort while Ronny Paulino socked a three-run homer as the Marlins won for the third time in four games.

Jorge Cantu and Dan Uggla each contributed an RBI single in the win. Cantu and Uggla's RBI hits came in back-to-back fashion in the first inning, and Paulino followed with his round-tripper to give the Marlins all the scoring they would need.

Jayson Werth homered with two outs in the ninth to ruin Nolasco's bid for shutout.

The Phillies' Jamie Moyer (1-1) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts over six innings.
