SEATTLE, April 12 (UPI) -- Justin Duchscherer pitched 7 1/3 innings of shutout ball, allowing only two hits Monday as the Oakland A's downed Seattle 4-0 in the Mariners' home opener.

Duchscherer (1-0), who has returned to the A's after missing the 2009 season due to injuries and depression, posted his first win since July 8, 2008, giving up two walks and striking out four.
