ST. LOUIS, April 10 (UPI) -- Carlo Colaiacovo ignited a four-goal outburst in the third period Friday that brought St. Louis a 6-3 victory over Anaheim.
The teams played their next-to-last game in a season that will see both of them miss the playoffs.
Anaheim had a 3-2 advantage heading into the final period, but Colaiacovo put a slap shot past Curtis McElhinney to tie it 3:29 into the stanza.
Jay McClement, Andy McDonald and David Backes then scored in a span of 1:49 late in the period to blow open the game. McClement's go-ahead goal came with 3:50 remaining.
St. Louis has won six of its last eight games and will conclude the season in Nashville on Saturday.
Keith Tkachuk, in the final home game of his 18-year career, assisted on two of the third-period goals. Chris Mason stopped 23 shots to get the win.
All six St. Louis goals were scored against McElhinney, who made 42 saves.
