MLB: Washington 4, New York Mets 3

NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- Willy Taveras drove in all of Washington's runs and Willie Harris made a diving catch to end the game Saturday as the Nationals downed the New York Mets 4-3.

Taveras went 2-for-4, including a two-run triple and a two-run single, to provide all of the offense for the Nats and John Lannan (1-1) allowed three runs on six hits over five innings to pick up the win.

Tyler Clippard was tough in relief, striking out seven in three scoreless innings while Matt Capps registered his second save of the season.

With the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth, Rod Barajas lined a pitch to left that looked like it would fall in and perhaps win the game for the Mets, but Harris dove and made a spectacular catch while airborne to end the contest.

Jeff Francoeur notched a pair of hits as the Mets lost despite the return of Jose Reyes to the lineup for the first time since May 20, 2009.
