NHL: Edmonton 4, Minnesota 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, April 6 (UPI) -- Devan Dubnyk made 25 saves Monday and the Edmonton Oilers halted a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over Minnesota.

Ethan Moreau and Dustin Penner both scored twice for the Oilers, who have only three games remaining in a dismal season that will see them finish last in the Western Conference.

The lone Minnesota goal came from Andrew Brunette in the second period and brought the Wild within one going into the third.

Moreau, however, scored with 5:44 to play to give the Oilers a 3-1 cushion and Penner produced a power-play score 93 seconds later.

Niklas Backstrom allowed all four goals on 31 shots.
