MIAMI, March 30 (UPI) -- Miami Heat forward Dorell Wright has publicly apologized for an explicit photo of himself that is making the rounds on the Internet.
"I lacked judgment and was naive about the Internet. I realize this is not an excuse, but it is something I truly regret. I realize this affects my entire family and I am embarrassed by it," Wright said in a statement released Monday by Heat management.
Wright said the photo was taken a year ago in what he thought was a private Internet chat session, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Tuesday.
A Wright fan initially posted the photo on the Web after Wright's girlfriend, who also is the mother of his child, had posted comments about Wright being a virtuous man, the Internet site Mediatakeout.com reported.
Earlier this month, Wright publicly apologized for his arrest March 11 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.
