Oosthuizen gains first European Tour win

MALAGA, Spain, March 28 (UPI) -- South African Louis Oosthuizen broke through with his first European Tour title Sunday, winning the Open de Andalucia de Golf in Spain.

After finishing as the runner-up four times -- including last week's event in Morocco -- Oosthuizen fired a three-under 67 to gain the Spanish title at 17-under 263, gathering that elusive first trip to the winner's circle.

The performance was good enough for a three-stroke victory over Richard Finch (67) and Peter Whiteford (66) at 14-under 266 on the Parador de Malaga course.

Francesco Molinari (67) and Robert Coles (71) finished knotted for fourth place at minus-12.

The performance enabled Oosthuizen to move from 60th to the top 50 in the world rankings just as the invitations to next month's Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga., are being prepared.
