NHL: Philadelphia 5, New Jersey 1

PHILADELPHIA, March 28 (UPI) -- Ville Leino and Simon Gagne registered a goal and an assist apiece Sunday as the Philadelphia Flyers cruised to a 5-1 win over New Jersey.

Lukas Krajicek, Matt Carle and Kimmo Timonen each scored a goal and Brian Boucher turned aside 32 shots in the Flyers' win, which broke a five-game losing streak and enabled them to jump into the sixth slot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Philadelphia has logged 82 points and 38 wins, one more victory than Montreal, which also sits at 82 points. Both the Flyers and the Habs have six games left in the regular season.

The lone New Jersey goal was notched by Ilya Kovalchuk while Martin Brodeur let in four goals on 19 shots over two periods for the Devils, losers of four of their last six.

Yann Danis took over in the third period in net and stopped five shots for New Jersey.
