NHL: Edmonton 5, San Jose 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, March 21 (UPI) -- Devan Dubnyk registered 27 saves on 28 shots Sunday, lifting the Edmonton Oilers to a 5-1 victory over San Jose.

The NHL-worst Oilers got a goal and an assist each from Dustin Penner and Fernando Pisani in Edmonton's second win in a row after five straight losses. The Oilers raised their point total with 53.

San Jose fell into second place in the Pacific Division with the loss, its sixth straight defeat, as the Phoenix Coyotes vaulted over them with a victory Sunday over Dallas.

Ryane Clowe scored to provide the Sharks with their only offense while Evgeni Nabokov let in all five goals on 25 Edmonton shots.
