BOSTON, March 21 (UPI) -- Tuuka Rask was stellar in nets, stopping 23 shots and backstopping the Boston Bruins to a key 2-1 win over New York Sunday.

Rask outdueled Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, who made 29 saves, lifting the Bruins to a crucial two points in the Eastern Conference standings. The win gave Boston 76 points, three more than Atlanta in the race for the eighth and final conference playoff spot.

Miroslav Satan and Dennis Wideman lit the lamp for the Bruins, who won only their third game in 8 tries.

New York, meanwhile, remained mired at 71 points with 10 games to play. Michael Del Zotto scored the Rangers' only goal as the team dropped its third straight and seventh in 9, falling to 10th place in the East.
