COL BKB: Syracuse 87, Gonzaga 65

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 21 (UPI) -- Wes Johnson pumped in 31 points Sunday to power No. 1 seed Syracuse to an easy 87-65 win over Gonzaga in a second-round NCAA Tournament West Region game.

Johnson also hauled down 14 rebounds and Andy Rautins added 24 as Syracuse (30-4) posted its second lopsided win the 2010 tournament -- they downed Vermont by 23 points in Friday's first round at Buffalo, N.Y.

The Orange, who again played without center Arinze Onuakud due to a quadriceps injury, will next face Butler in the regional semifinals on Thursday in Salt Lake City. It will be Syracuse's 19th appearance in the Sweet 16.

Elias Harris led Gonzaga (27-7) with 24 points, while West Coast Conference Player of the Year Matt Bouldin was held scoreless for the first 24 minutes and finished with only 8 in the loss.
