NBA: Utah 112, Washington 89

SALT LAKE CITY, March 16 (UPI) -- Carlos Boozer scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds Monday as the Utah Jazz cruised to a 112-89 victory over Washington.

Deron Williams added 17 points and 11 assists while Mehmet Okur added 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and pulled down six boards as the Jazz applied a tough defense, holding Washington to just 36.9 percent shooting from the field.

Williams missed the fourth quarter after landing awkwardly in the final moments of the third. Sundiata Gaines added 15 points, one of seven Utah players to score in double figures.

After a tight initial period, the Jazz broke it open in the second period, shooting 14-of-19 from the field in the span.

The reeling Wizards got 24 points from Andray Blatche while Mike Miller chipped in with 14 points and 10 boards in the loss.
