Bears sign Jennings, release McKie

CHICAGO, March 16 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears have signed cornerback Tim Jennings and released fullback Jason McKie, the team said Tuesday.

Jennings was inked to a two-year deal after spending the first four years of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, who selected him in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft.

In his career with the Colts, Jennings has appeared in 53 games, including 21 starts, notching 157 tackles, four interceptions, 25 passes defensed and 29 special teams stops.

McKie played seven years for the Bears, appearing in 71 games -- 35 of them as a starter. In that span he caught 62 passes for 344 yards while running for 84 yards on 29 carries.
