VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 14 (UPI) -- Daniel and Henrik Sedin had a goal and an assist apiece Sunday and the Vancouver Canucks rode a three-goal first period to a 3-1 win over Calgary.
Ryan Kesler scored and Roberto Luongo posted 32 saves for the Canucks, who have won six of their last eight games to take a five-point lead over the second-place Colorado Avalanche in the Northwest Division.
Robyn Regehr scored for the Flames, who trail Detroit by one point for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Miikka Kiprusoff allowed three goals on 20 shots in the first period, before giving way to Vesa Toskala, who made eight saves in the second period and none in the third, when Vancouver did not manage a shot on goal.
The loss snapped a four-game Calgary winning streak.
