ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., March 13 (UPI) -- Kevin Anderson poured in 27 points and David Gonzalvez added 26 Saturday as Richmond defeated Xavier 89-85 in overtime to advance to the Atlantic 10 final.
Dan Geriot added 11 points and Francis Martel chipped in with 10 for Richmond (26-7), which made the A-10 title game for the second time and for the first time since 2002.
The Spiders will face No. 17 Temple in Sunday's final.
Justin Harper connected on a 3-pointer with 2:13 left in overtime, giving the Spiders an 81-76 advantage, then Jason Love's tip-in the next time down the court brought the Musketeers as close they would come down the stretch.
Anderson responded with a layup for a five-point Richmond lead with just over a minute left in overtime. He then connected on all four of his free-throw tries in the last seconds to secure the victory.
Jordan Crawford scored 20 points and hauled down eight rebounds for Xavier (24-8).
