COL BKB: Ohio 81, Akron 75 (OT)

CLEVELAND, March 13 (UPI) -- Armon Bassett hit a go-ahead jumper late in overtime Saturday to lift Ohio to an 81-75 win over Akron in the Mid-American Conference Tournament final.

Bassett's game-winning shot capped a 25-point, six-rebound performance as the Bobcats (21-14) secured their fifth MAC title and a spot in next week's NCAA Tournament.

D.J. Cooper poured in 23 points, grabbed seven caroms and dished off six assists for Ohio in the victory.

Akron (24-10) was led by Jimmy Conyers with 19 points and 12 boards while Chris McKnight contributed 18 points and 10 in the loss. Akron, the defending MAC champions, defeated Buffalo in last year's conference tourney.
