COL BKC: Tennessee 74, Kentucky 65

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- J.P. Prince got hot down the stretch, scoring six of his 20 points late to lead No. 17 Tennessee to a 74-65 upset of No. 2 Kentucky.

After two straight dunks by DeMarcus Cousins pulled Kentucky into a 65-65 tie with two minutes left, Prince connected on a layup and Scotty Hopson (15 points) hit the bullseye with a 3-pointer to give the Volunteers (21-7, 9-5 SEC) the winning momentum.

Bobby Maze and Cameron Tatum both contributed nine points for third win in four games for Tennessee, which snapped Kentucky's eight-game victory streak.

The Wildcats (27-2, 12-2) were looking for a win to clinch a share of the SEC title. John Wall netted 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in the loss, while Cousins contributed 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
