VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Jenny Potter turned in her second hat trick in as many Olympic outings Tuesday, helping the United States women's hockey team to a 13-0 rout of Russia.
The American women's hockey team ran its goal total in two Olympic contests and wrapped up a spot in Monday's semifinals.
Potter had two goals and four points in the opening period, when the United States ran up a 5-0 lead.
The Russians got off just seven shots on goal for the entire Group B game.
Team USA will join Sweden and Canada in the semifinals. Finland, which had a night game against China Tuesday, was the likely fourth participant in the semis. Sweden and Canada will play Wednesday to determine the winner of Group A.
The United States will conclude the round-robin phase of the Olympic tournament Thursday with a game against Finland.
