Olympic Medal: Nord. Comb. Normal Hill

WHISTLER, British Columbia, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Jason Lamy Chappuis of France won the Olympic gold medal Sunday in the normal hill Nordic combined.

Johnny Spillane of the United States won the silver, the first Olympic medal ever for an American in Nordic combined. The bronze went to Allesandro Pittin of Italy.

American Todd Lodwick, who came out of retirement to compete at the age of 33, was fourth and another United States competitor, Bill DeMong, was sixth.
