ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic cruised to an easy victory Tuesday, advancing to the third round of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Djokovic, the world's No. 2 player, was coasting against Sergiy Stakhovsky when the Ukrainian retired while trailing 6-2, 4-1 in the indoor event at Ahoy Stadium.

Next up for the Serbian star will be Swiss Marco Chiudinelli.
Elsewhere at ABN AMRO, former champ and No. 6 seed Russian Mikhail Youzhny had to hang on to down plucky Kazakhstani qualifier Andrey Golubev 1-6, 7-6 (7-0), 7-6 (7-5) in an epic match that dragged on for 2 hours, 18 minutes.
Meanwhile, France's Julien Benneteau notched an upset over seventh-seeded Croat Ivan Ljubicic 6-3, 6-3.
