NHL: Calgary 6, Edmonton 1

EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- The Calgary Flames got two goals apiece from Dustin Boyd and Jarome Iginla in their 6-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers Saturday.

The win broke an 0-6-3 Calgary losing streak, the longest skid by a Flames team since they lost 11 straight in 1985-1986.

Miikka Kiprusoff had 27 saves and Rene Bourque and Dion Phaneuf added single goals.

Sam Gagner scored the only Edmonton goal. Devan Dubnyk turned in 24 saves.

Gagner scored at 12:25 of the first period to tie the game 1-1 after Boyd opened the scoring with a backhander goal 3:45 into the contest.

The tie lasted less than a minute as Borque scored to make it 2-1. The Flames scored three times in the second period to take control of game.

Kiprusoff made nine saves in the third period.
