PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Scott Hartnell scored the winning goal during a first-period power play Saturday in a "chippy" game Philadelphia won 2-1 over the New York Islanders.

Ray Emery made 31 saves for Philadelphia, which has beaten the Islanders 14 times in a row at home. Dwayne Roloson had 30 stops for New York, which has lost four straight.

"It's always fun to score a goal, that is what hockey is about," Hartnell said. "Everyone was very emotional here today. It was kind of a chippy game. A lot of stuff after the whistle, but we got two points and that's what we needed."
