HARTFORD, Conn., Jan. 30 (UPI) -- Jimmy Butler's basket with 2.8 seconds left Saturday boosted Marquette to a 70-68 Big East Conference win over 19th-ranked Connecticut.

Jerome Dyson's 3-pointer gave UConn a 68-65 lead with 54.8 seconds to go, but on the ensuing possession he fouled Darius Johnson-Odom on 3-point attempt.

Johnson-Odom then sank three free throws, setting the stage for Butler's game-winner.

Marquette led 34-29 at the break, but its lead dwindled to 47-46 when UConn's Stanley Robinson made back-to-back baskets with 12:31 remaining in the second half.

Butler's 21 points and seven rebounds led Marquette. Lazar Hayward added 20 points and Odom scored 15 for the Golden Eagles (13-8, 4-5), who have split their last six games.

Dyson led Connecticut with 18 points. Kemba Walker scored 15 with six assists, Robinson 13 with eight rebounds, and Gavin Edwards added nine points and 14 rebounds for the Huskies (13-8, 3-5), who have lost two straight.
