ATLANTA, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Maxim Afinogenov scored on a power play in the third period Tuesday, giving the Atlanta Thrashers a 2-1 decision over Anaheim.
Johan Hedberg recorded 34 saves for Atlanta. He also got lucky at the tail end of the game when Anaheim pulled goalie Jonas Hiller and buzzed the Atlanta net in the closing seconds. Ryan Getzlaf rang a shot off the post as time expired, allowing the Thrashers to hang on for the win.

Colby Armstrong had the Thrashers' other goal in the victory.
Steve Eminger had the lone goal for the Ducks and Hiller logged 32 saves.
