The Mountaineers (16-3, 5-2 Big East), took command from the opening tip and ran up a 20-4 lead in the first 8 minutes. DePaul scrambled back with an 11-2 run that cut the deficit to 26-22 but West Virginia closed the first half strong and led 37-28 at halftime before going on to in its third straight.
Will Walker led DePaul (8-12, 1-7) with 17 points. Mac Koshwal returned to the Blue Devils lineup after missing the last four games with a foot injury and contributed seven points and seven rebounds.
The Blue Demons trailed by at least 10 throughout the second half and fell behind 59-40 on Ebanks' slam dunk with 6 minutes to play.
