COL BKB: Michigan State 57, Michigan 56

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Kalin Lucas hit a jump shot with 3.5 seconds left Tuesday, sending No. 5 Michigan State to a 57-56 victory over Michigan.

Raymar Morgan's basket with 1:09 left pulled the Spartans to within one at 56-55, and MSU got the ball back after DeShawn Sims air-balled a subsequent field goal try for Michigan.

With the final seconds ticking down, Lucas pulled up near the free-throw line and connected on his game-winner jumper.

Lucas finished with 12 points for Michigan State (18-3, 8-0 Big Ten), while Morgan scored a game-high 20 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Draymond Green and Durrell Summers each added 10 points for the Spartans, who won their ninth straight game.

Sims led Michigan (10-10, 3-5) with 19 points while Manny Harris made an auspicious return from an injury, pouring in 16 points in the loss.
