NHL: New Jersey 4, New York Islanders 2

UNIONDALE, N.Y., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- A pair of goals by Zach Parise led the New Jersey Devils past the New York Islanders 4-2 Saturday.

Martin Brodeur stopped 20 shots for the Devils and Bryce Salvador scored a late third-period goal that was the difference in the game.

Kyle Okposo and Jack Hillen scored for the Islanders. Rick DiPietro faced 27 shots in goal.

Salvador scored from the left point with 6:49 left in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie.

Jamie Langenbrunner scored at 5:52 of the first period to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead. Okposo tied the scored early in the second period on a power-play goal and Hillen then tallied a goal that gave the Islanders a 2-1 edge.

Parise scored his first goal on a power play at 19:28 of the second period to tie it 2-2. His second goal of the game went into an empty net in the final minute.
