NHL: Minnesota 4, Columbus 2

ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Minnesota snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Mikko Koivu had two goals for the Wild and Niklas Backstrom had a shutout going until he gave up two quick goals in the final 22 seconds of regulation.

Rick Nash and Antoine Vermette tallied the Columbus goals. Steve Mason stopped 24 shots.

Koivu netted Minnesota's first two goals, staking the Wild to a 2-0 lead early in the second period.

Eric Belanger added a goal at 4:18 of the second period to make it 3-0. Robbie Earl added the fourth goal with 1:08 left in the game.
