ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Martin Kaymer's 18th-hole birdie Saturday gave him a third consecutive 67 and a 1-stroke lead after three rounds of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

Kaymer was 5-under-par on the front side Saturday as he moved to into the lead at 15-under 201 for the tournament, just ahead of Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter, who are tied at 14-under. Peter Hanson is in fourth, two behind Kaymer.

Shane Lowry, Alvaro Quiros and Chris Wood are tied for fifth at 12-under at the European PGA Tour stop in the United Arab Emirates.

Heavy fog led to a delay of more than two hours in the start of Saturday's play, forcing organizers to send golfers off both the front and back nines.

Kaymer, playing the front first, opened with three consecutive birdies and closed the side with back-to-back birdies in making the turn at 5-under 31. He's 13-under on the front nine of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club course this week.

He had a bogey at the 11th hole but finished with a birdie and the lead.
