NHL: San Jose 5, Los Angeles 1

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Ryane Clowe and Patrick Marleau scored two goals apiece Tuesday to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 5-1 win over Los Angeles.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 36 shots for San Jose, which has won three straight and five of its last six.

Dan Boyle had a goal and two assists for the Sharks.

Wayne Simmonds scored for the Kings, who had a two-game winning streak snapped.

Jonathan Quick gave up five goals on 24 shots for LA.

Marleau opened the scoring at 5:18 of the first period, scoring on the power play with an assist by Joe Pavelski. Boyle scored what turned out to be the game winner with his 10th goal of the season at 9:38 of the first.
