COL BKB: Michigan State 70, Iowa 63

EAST LANSING, Mich., Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Raymar Morgan's 16 points and three rebounds Wednesday led seventh-ranked Michigan State to a 70-63 Big Ten Conference win over Iowa.

The Spartans appeared headed to an easy victory after building a 35-23 halftime lead but with a persistent second-half comeback the Hawkeyes closed to 66-63 on two free throws by Jarryd Cole with 16 seconds left.

Durrell Summers scored 12 with five rebounds and four assists, Kalin Lucas 11 with six assists, while Kelvin Roe added eight points, six rebounds and three assists for the Spartans (16-3, 6-0), who have a seven-game winning streak and are 6-0 in the conference for the first time in Coach Tom Izzo's 15-year tenure.

Matt Gatens led Iowa with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Aaron Fuller scored 13 with nine rebounds and three assists, Cully Payne scored 12, while Cole scored 10 points with seven rebounds for the Hawkeyes (7-12, 1-5), whose two-game winning streak ended.
