NHL: Colorado 6, Edmonton 0

DENVER, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- The Colorado Avalanche, riding the shutout goaltending of Craig Anderson, sent Edmonton to its eighth straight defeat Monday, trouncing the Oilers 6-0.

Anderson stopped all 24 shots by the Oilers, who have lost 15 of their last 16 games. The shutout was the Colorado goalie's fourth this season.

Matt Duchene led the Avalanche offense with two goals and an assist. Kyle Cumiskey also scored twice and John-Michael Liles and Chris Stewart each recorded a goal in Colorado's fourth straight win.

Jeff Deslauriers allowed all of the Colorado goals and finished with 28 saves for Edmonton.
