LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Jonathan Quick made 22 saves Thursday and claimed his first shutout of the season in pacing the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-0 win over Anaheim.
The Kings halted a three-game skid and the Ducks had their season-long six-game winning streak come to an end.
This is Quick's second full season in the NHL and he had four shutouts during the 2008-09 campaign.
The Ducks began what will be an extended stretch without the services of Teemu Selanne, who is out with a fractured jaw.
Michal Handzus opened the scoring by tipping in a shot with 2:04 to play in the first period and the Kings got goals from Scott Parse, Dustin Brown and Wayne Simmonds in the second.
Simmonds scored with 3 seconds to go in the period.
Jonas Hiller allowed three goals on 13 shots before being replaced by Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
Los Angeles remained one point in front of Detroit for the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference.
